Tumblr + Chandeliers

Well as far as blogging is concerned, it turns out tumblr is pretty much the easiest for finding, and posting amazing images from the inter-web.  After Rumi over at Fashion Toast tweeted about her love of Sex For Breakfast I got a little addicted to browsing through all the fantastic pictures on some great tumblr pages, cause there are so SO many...and obviously I made my own.  Check out Glitter In The Air to see some of my favorite inspiration shots, updated pretty much daily.

In The Studio

When I put together a highlight reel of my favorite designers from the first half of New York F/W Fashion Week, Prabal Gurung was the only designer whose looks I couldn't edit down to just one row.  The Singapore-born Nepal-raised designer launched his first collection just two years ago at the FLAG Art Foundation in Chelsea, staging his first runway show last year in Bryant Park.  Already, Gurung has become a Fashion Week favorite, his garments donning the likes of Oprah, Demi Moore, and Michelle Obama to name a few.  Here are some gorgeous shots behind the curtain at his Garment District studio in NYC.

Florence: Letter From LA

I've been big on posting videos lately.  Perhaps it's a symptom of laziness since a film not only has images, but the creator's narrative as well....it's less (or completely un-) necessary for me to add a blurb since film as an art form is more able to stand on its own than, for example, photography or design.  Ah well, I will allow myself the indulgence of laziness whenever I can find ones this good.

I've watched this about five times and each time I'm struck by how such a simple little video can be so sweet and beautiful.  Hope you all enjoy this lovely first-time film, by professional photographer Andrew Brauteseth, as much as I do.
